Itch.io sets up game mega-bundle for Ukraine

Updated: May 15, 2022

With the situation progressing in Ukraine, many communities have gotten together to raise money for the charities who have decided to support them. To do their part, Itch.io has teamed up with over 700 creators to release the "Ukraine bundle" for people to buy. The bundle is advertised as soon as you go onto their main page, making it easy to find for those curious.

The bundle itself contains over 990 games and increasing. This offer is only for a limited period of time, but make sure to keep an eye on any additional games that they add over the time period.

Popular games such a Baba is You, Celeste and Doodle date are all included, as well as many hidden gems. All of it, usually worth around $6,500 is marked down to only $10! While that is the minimum you need to pay for all of these, they do highly urge you to pay as much as you can for the cause. It ends in 8 days, so picking up your bundle now for however much you can give is not only benefitting you, but the charities involved.

My late night purchase, only able to give $10 as I am a poor student.

The money raised from this will go to two charities (the descriptions for both come straight from itch.io):

  • International Medical Corps provides medical assistance in the region. They have very low fundraising overhead (1% of income), with 89% of donations going to medical aid and 10% to administration.

  • Voices of Children, a Ukrainian organization that helps children cope with the horrors of war, PTSD, readjusting to school, and getting back to being kids. They have also been doing a lot of grassroots impromptu work during the war, such as helping set up shelters. Our hope is that this war will be over soon, and they can begin the work of healing these kids' hearts.

The money raised will be split between them 50/50.

To access this bundle, check out itch.io before they take it down.
